What's The Difference Between Dermal Fillers & Other Injectable Treatments

Even though dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections have been around for a long time, some still need clarification. So today, SKINriched will help you discover how dermal fillers and other injectables — in particular — differ from each other.

Check out this blog post and see these factors that might clarify your senses!

Dermal Fillers & Other Injectables

Although they are both popular facial procedures, injectables and fillers are administered differently. Typically, injectables repair wrinkles and creases, whereas fillers are used to correct volume loss, such as hollow cheeks or temples.

Injectables are also frequently used for facial rejuvenation but can also be used to treat lips and hands. Fillers, on the other hand, fill up hollow facial areas and smooth out facial wrinkles (such as crow’s feet).

Injectables and dermal fillers are two of the most prevalent cosmetic procedures. Both treatments are intended to improve your appearance.

It works by minimizing the indications of age, restoring volume lost due to weight loss or illness, and enhancing the appearance of your skin. However, they differ in how they are delivered and the outcomes they can produce.

In short, in its whole essence, specifically, these are how they differ:

  • Botox freezes muscles to stop lines and wrinkles from forming on the face. Usually, these are in the upper part of the face, like on the forehead and around the eyes.
  • Dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid and other similar substances to “fill in” or plump up areas that have lost volume and smoothness.

This includes lines around the mouth, thin lips, and cheeks that aren’t as full as they used to be. You can also use them to smooth out wrinkles on the forehead, scars, and other areas that need more volume.

The effects of Botox last for 3 to 4 months. The results of dermal fillers depend on what type of filler is used.

  • Botox and fillers are substances made for different purposes, so they can sometimes be used together in the same treatment. For example, a person might use Botox to fix lines between the eyes and a filler to fix lines around the mouth caused by smiling.

Our Treatments at SKINriched

SKINriched offers treatments like neuromodulators and fillers to help you work through your aesthetic goals. Here’s what to expect from each procedure.

Our Neuromodulator Treatments

Neuromodulators and Neurotoxins are other names for Botox and Dysport. Neuromodulators are the best way to treat and prevent fine lines, wrinkles, and deep facial furrows.

Most often, treat neuromodulators with their concerns with:

  • Face wrinkles (frontalis)
  • Between the brows / Elevens (glabella)
  • Eyesores (orbicularis oculi)
  • Brow raise
  • Lip flip

If you’re interested in this method, there’s no need to worry. Our team had a lot of training so that she could safely inject more complicated parts of the face and body, such as:

Turning the mouth down, frowning, clenching the jaw, and slimming the jawline are all symptoms of TMJ.

  • Chin-wrinkling
  • Lip flip and gummy smile
  • Nasalis
  • Bunny lines
  • Hyperhidrosis, or sweating too much
  • Necklines or Platysmal bands
  • Migraines

How it Works

Neuromodulators have been tested in the clinic and studied in depth. At SKINriched, a tiny amount is injected into the muscle group that needs it. Most procedures only take 15 to 30 minutes, so you can quickly return to your daily life.

After your injections, you shouldn’t work out for the rest of the day and shouldn’t lie flat for 4 hours. You’ll see less movement in 3–7 days, and the whole treatment will be over by day 14.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid can smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, plump and hydrate the lips, and replace lost volume. We can add volume to your face or make your features stand out with dermal fillers.

Most often, treat neuromodulators with their concerns with:

  • Lips Cheeks
  • There are wrinkles around the mouth.
  • Nasolabial creases
  • Marionette lines

Our team of experts had a lot of training so that we could safely inject more complicated parts of the face and body, such as:

  • Chin
  • Jawline
  • Under eye and tear ducts, Hands Scar repair, and cleft lip

How it Works

We give you ice and cream that numbs the area to make you feel better. After treatment, you can see the results immediately, though there may be some bruising and swelling.

The product will then settle, and about two to three weeks after the injections, you’ll be able to see the final results.

Plan and give yourself at least two weeks before any events, trips, or photos in case you still have some bruising and swelling.

PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP)

Platelet-rich plasma is a different kind of procedure that is done with an injection. Instead of using a substance already made, we take a small amount of your blood.

Then, we spin it down in a centrifuge and inject it back into the area of concern. PRP, also known as “Liquid Gold,” is the best way to help the body grow new cells and repair damaged ones.

For instance, PRP is a collection of platelets, tiny cells that travel through your blood and are essential for making blood clots. Platelets and the liquid part of the blood called plasma have factors needed for cells to come together and specialize.

With the fantastic benefits of PRP, you can get your body to make more collagen, which can help with things like fine lines and wrinkles, discoloration, scarring, hollowing, and more. It also makes hair grow faster and strengthens the hair follicle.

What You Can Expect

At SKINriched, we will use a small butterfly needle to take a small amount of blood from a vein in your arm. We suggest you drink a lot of water the day before your treatment and the day of it.

If you’ve had trouble getting blood before, please let us know before your visit. Then, we will put your blood in our centrifuge and prepare it for treatment.

Then, a needle or cannula is put back into the area that hurts. You can see the results about 4–6 weeks after the first treatment.

We suggest you plan and give yourself at least two weeks before any events, trips, or photos in case you still have bruising or swelling.

Picking The Right Treatment

There are a lot of different dermal fillers on the market. Finding the right one for you will depend on your budget, your doctor’s experience and preference, and the unique qualities of your skin, such as how much sun damage you have or how flexible or stiff it is.

What works for your friend might not be the best choice for you. You should know a few essential things about the most common dermal fillers to get this done.
